McCurdy is proud to announce the release of his first book, <em>Becoming Bruce: The Early Life &amp; Work of Bruce Cockburn</em>, especially at this time as fans of Bruce&#8217;s music celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the release of his debut album in the spring of 1970.</p>
<p>Written for scholars, fans, and the general public, John hopes you enjoy the book, and welcomes comments and feedback here at WordPress. No portion of this online book may be reproduced without the prior written permission of the author.</p>
<p>John grew up in Ontario, Canada. He started listening to Bruce Cockburn&#8217;s work at age thirteen and first saw Bruce perform live at Hamilton Place at age fifteen. He holds a B.A. Honours with Distinction in English and History and an interdisciplinary M.A. in Globalization Studies from McMaster University and a B.Ed. in Intermediate-Senior English and History Instruction from the University of Toronto. An Alberta certified teacher, John currently works with the Edmonton Public School District and with other area schools.</p>
